Run for the Hills!!

The sickness...OH the sickness. I'm sick to death of sickness!! Everyone that has been looking at me today has been doing little double takes because I must look bad. Sure I look tired, a little pale, my hair is messy, I've got a killer headache and I'm still dizzy and nauseous but I didn't think I looked that bad. At least not compared to my picture below that my husband (wow I looked awful!) snuck of me when Carlee was still throwing up. Truth be told this afternoon my stomach is kinda feeling better. A little. Well, I was finally able to get some peanut M&M's down me so I call that a success!

Carlee got struck first...

She shared with poor brother...

Of course mommy got it since she had to care for the poor darlings.
Seeing them sick just pulls at my heartstrings! I'd DEFINITELY rather be sick than them. Our stomachs are all finally getting better although now Collin and I are coughing. Collin must have brought something else home. Dang kids and their quick ability to "lovingly" share germs! Thank Heavens we have parent teacher conferences so we'll have a short week. It will give us some time to heal our immunities and feel normal again. At least until they bring home more germs next Monday...

For a lighter side of sickness enjoy this poem. A little humor is needed in times of depravity.

Sick

by Shel Silverstein
"I cannot go to school today,"
Said little Peggy Ann McKay.
"I have the measles and the mumps,
A gash, a rash and purple bumps.
My mouth is wet, my throat is dry,
I'm going blind in my right eye.
My tonsils are as big as rocks,
I've counted sixteen chicken pox
And there's one more--that's seventeen,
And don't you think my face looks green?
My leg is cut--my eyes are blue--
It might be instamatic flu.
I cough and sneeze and gasp and choke,
I'm sure that my left leg is broke--
My hip hurts when I move my chin,
My belly button's caving in,
My back is wrenched, my ankle's sprained,
My 'pendix pains each time it rains.
My nose is cold, my toes are numb.
I have a sliver in my thumb.
My neck is stiff, my voice is weak,
I hardly whisper when I speak.
My tongue is filling up my mouth,
I think my hair is falling out.
My elbow's bent, my spine ain't straight,
My temperature is one-o-eight.
My brain is shrunk, I cannot hear,
There is a hole inside my ear.
I have a hangnail, and my heart is--what?
What's that? What's that you say?
You say today is. . .Saturday?
G'bye, I'm going out to play!"
