Sightings...

On the way to work this morning I spotted a tiny squirrel in the treetop above me. I almost thought him to be part of the tree the way his tail hairs were branching out like little limbs. He was so adorable and small!

Flash forward to after 11:00 when I was heading to the bank. I glanced at the lower parking lot and saw the cutest baby deer hanging out by a pine tree. A co-worker told me that a baby had been hanging around but I've never seen him until today. Poor thing probably lost his mom to hunting season and doesn't know where to go.

Now for the best sighting. Yesterday a leprechaun came to my office window. What? Yeah you read that right. No seriously he looked just like one. He didn't have on his green hat or black buckle shoes but his disguise didn't fool me one bit. He was short with stubby little fingers and greeted me with, "Ahhh, I see your having a wee bit of lunch there lass." His rosy cheeks shined beside his button nose as he grinned at me. He gave me a bit of gold (okay a check) for our service. He was just so darned cute and had the best accent. We talked a wee bit and he went on his way.

So, what's the point of all this rambling? Well, I'm trying to focus more on the little things that make me happy. A lot of little things added together can make a big difference. I know people that always look for the positive. They whistle jubilantly and say random kind things like, "Your smile just makes my day." It's nice to hear happy things. It's quite often that I have to hear negative comments that really puts my mood down in the dumps. An old saying goes, "It takes seven positives to replace just one negative." Well sometimes for me it can take a whole heck of a lot more than seven. I'm gonna try though. After all, you never know when being positive can make someone else's day.

Smile!

You just made my day! Thanks for the timely reminder.

Dang, I wish I would run into a cute little leprechan...though my next door neighbor resembles one quit a bit as well!
