A little help?

I wanna get my haircut soon and according
to this (wasting time at work) quiz:

Your Ideal Hairstyle:

Layered Bob

Whatcha think? Too short? I'm sick of my long flat hair that I can't seem to do anything with. I need something different. Any suggestions? Please keep in mind that I don't want a Mohawk or bright pink hair. Other than that I'm all ears!

Can you say, "Brrrrrrrrr..."!!!!

Old Man Winter
you are doing your job well!

Sunday we got maybe

4 or 5 inches of new snow.

Carlee really enjoyed catching

snowflakes on her tongue.

I was really hoping
it would snow enough
that I couldn't get to work.
(No such luck...)

The kids lucked out though!

When I told Collin there was

no school on Monday he was

a little disappointed.

(Silly boy...)

They lucked out again

this morning too although

it was more of a

"freezing day"

than a snow day. When

it gets below 25 degrees

with a wind chill factor

they automatically close

school.

Brrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!

Put on your hat and mittens

cuz baby it's cold outside!

Enjoy your days off kids!

Once you get to be adults
you'll be wishing you had
more snow days!!

Food 4 Thought Friday

Breakfast
How would you describe your life right now...a Three Ring Circus, the Indy 500, the Boston Marathon, or a day at the beach?
Gotta be a Three Ring Circus. I'm juggling keeping up with the house, work, church callings, and all the prep for a baby shower that is coming too quickly.

Lunch
If you were a crayon, what color would you be?
Definitely green. My fav! I love every shade of it. Okay maybe not puke green. Gross.

Dinner
What is the strangest food you ever ate?
Hmmm...can't think of anything strange. Is eel strange? I love sushi with eel.

Midnight Snack
Have you ever seen a Broadway musical? If so, which ones?
Wah! I have to say no even though I really, really want to say yes! I would love to see the Phantom of the Opera live instead of on film. It's my absolute favorite Broadway story. I also want to see Wicked because I hear they have wonderful effects.

Recipe for the Week (instead of your recipe for life, what is it just for this week?)
Don't stress. Chillax. Order up a chill and relax combo.

Out of control...

Have you ever felt like you were drowning when there is no water in sight? I happen to be drowning in clutter; piles, bags, boxes, you name it. It's suffocating and out of control. I don't claim to be a pack rat yet the evidence is there: Walmart receipts from three years ago, piles of recipes cut out of magazines, old school books, clothes no one would wear... Yes, there is evidence though I hide it well. I stuff it behind closets, in the cupboards, under beds, anywhere out of site and out of mind. Yet it's still there. It plagues me.

Recently I decided to go ahead and tackle my recipe/craft cupboard. Years and years of magazine clippings mocked me as they thought they would be forever claiming shelf space. The unfinished crafts glared at me through reproachful eyes. The learning games I had every intention of using with the kids complained at their ineffectiveness. Old receipts spilled out and giggled that they had lasted that long. Yes, these items have become such a part of me that they each had their own personalities. No more! I closed my eyes and threw out three piles of clippings without bothering to look at them. I took the learning games into Collin's room where they were immediately enjoyed (and then scattered to all ends of the house). The crafts were put in their place to find and use. Old receipts and basically trash I thought was treasure was tossed aside without a care. I carefully put back the items that I have use for. Everything is in it's place and everything has a purpose. Success!!!

It feels great to have one tiny corner of the house organized and peaceful. If only the rest of the house could claim that glory. Sigh, it's a long road ahead...

Wordless Wednesday: Activity Days Crashers

Oh baby!

Okay there has been entirely too much baby talk over here lately. When I dream about babies, when most of the conversations around me revolve around babies, and when my body tries to act like it's pregnant (when I'm definitely not), then I know there's too much little tyke talk. Why all the baby mania? Well...

One of my friends had twin baby girls before Christmas.

Another friend from the office is having twin girls.

My neighbor is due in 4 weeks with a baby girl.

I'm knee deep in planning one baby shower and...

...planning baby sugar cookies for the other one.

Yep, lots of baby talk.

I dreamed the other night that I gave birth to a boy and a girl. They were both about two pounds each and absolutely precious. They looked perfectly healthy and normal for two pounds but hey it was a dream after all. I pushed the babies in swings at the park when my hubby came up to me with grim news. He tells me that I can't keep the babies because they are too expensive. Excuse me? They end up in the care of health and welfare and I have to go visit them in the office. (Sorry honey but I would tell you where to stick it if you said that in real life.) I don't remember much else about the dream but it's not the first one I've had about babies lately.
+++
I guess I'm just excited for all the new little ones to arrive. It's really reminding me of how much I miss having a newborn. I don't really miss the "tar" diapers or late night feedings though! Yet I do miss looking upon a tiny newborn face completely at peace. There is just something magical about holding a new baby. Well, I better head off to bed now, possibly to dream about tiny fingers and toes...

By the way if anyone knows any fun baby shower games let me know!

Little E.T. Girl

Remember the movie E.T. when the alien
was hiding with all the stuffed animals? That's the first thought that popped into my mind when Collin dragged me into his room. There sat Carlee snuggled in a pile of animals and balls. At least this alien doesn't have to return to her home planet! I think I'll keep her.
Collin snuggles.

Awwww...precious!

Laid back.

All smiles.

Monkey toes.

Hee hee!

This is my serious face. Time to get out!
Hmmm, speaking of E.T. I wish I had some Reses Pieces...
