I call Collin Mr. Emotional because he has such a hard time controlling his feelings. He gets upset very easily at even the silliest of things. Mrs. Browne (his teacher) says that he'll cry in class over insignificant things that she says should be no big deal. He takes everything seriously so the little things that someone else thinks is trivial he can get very upset over. It can be frustrating! Hopefully as he grows and matures he'll be able to control himself better and let things go. Of course he's got an emotional papa so he's just following in his footsteps...

Friday Fill-Ins

1. The last band I saw live was hmmm...does our Rock Band on x-box count?

2. What I look forward to most on Thanksgiving is stuffing myself till I feel sick and goofing off with the fam.

3. My Christmas/holiday shopping is halfway done. At least the kids are done. Of course they are the funnest to shop for!

4. Thoughts of chilly winds fill my head.

5. I wish I could wear a two-piece swimsuit.

6. Bagpipes should stay outta America.

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to laundry, dishes, and cleaning bathrooms (just to clarify: I am NOT looking forward to it) tomorrow my plans include replacing Christmas lights outside, cleaning like a mad woman to get ready for Thanksgiving next week, and Sunday, I want to spend time with the kids and make cookies!

Sightings...

On the way to work this morning I spotted a tiny squirrel in the treetop above me. I almost thought him to be part of the tree the way his tail hairs were branching out like little limbs. He was so adorable and small!

Flash forward to after 11:00 when I was heading to the bank. I glanced at the lower parking lot and saw the cutest baby deer hanging out by a pine tree. A co-worker told me that a baby had been hanging around but I've never seen him until today. Poor thing probably lost his mom to hunting season and doesn't know where to go.

Now for the best sighting. Yesterday a leprechaun came to my office window. What? Yeah you read that right. No seriously he looked just like one. He didn't have on his green hat or black buckle shoes but his disguise didn't fool me one bit. He was short with stubby little fingers and greeted me with, "Ahhh, I see your having a wee bit of lunch there lass." His rosy cheeks shined beside his button nose as he grinned at me. He gave me a bit of gold (okay a check) for our service. He was just so darned cute and had the best accent. We talked a wee bit and he went on his way.

So, what's the point of all this rambling? Well, I'm trying to focus more on the little things that make me happy. A lot of little things added together can make a big difference. I know people that always look for the positive. They whistle jubilantly and say random kind things like, "Your smile just makes my day." It's nice to hear happy things. It's quite often that I have to hear negative comments that really puts my mood down in the dumps. An old saying goes, "It takes seven positives to replace just one negative." Well sometimes for me it can take a whole heck of a lot more than seven. I'm gonna try though. After all, you never know when being positive can make someone else's day.

Smile!

Making a list, checking it twice!

Photobucket

By Collin

For Christmas I want:

a real Pokemon with powers

a giant robot dinosaur

a huge playset for outside

star wars action figures

light saber

Indiana Jones whip

a disco ball

battery powered Polaris Ranger

Hulk Smash Hands

Police man set (So I can cop you)

Nerf Gun (plus Nerf Wii game)

cars and motorcycles

and on and on and on!

Okay, Collin has been working overtime circling everything he likes in my magazines. These are just a few of the things he's circled. He keeps saying, "I like that...I'm gonna get it!" Does he think mom and dad are made of money??

Christmas Wishes For Sale Pictures, Images and Photos

He also circled some stuff I wasn't expecting.

For example:

dancing alarm clock
custom kids robe
white Santa gloves
sheer drawstring gift bags
bean bag chair with his name on it
guitar ornaments
chocolate fudge
mushroom garden chimes
lighted cathedral
sports car rug
his own guitar
half yard tall beer glass

In his defense I don't think he knew what that last one was! He just likes different glasses and cups. (He gets that from his mama.) I think he has definitely caught the Christmas fever bug. Now I just need to sit down with him and explain that Christmas is also about giving and celebrating Christ's birth. Maybe that will help in his circling rampage to realize that it's not all about him and presents.

I did order him his disco ball though. Shhhh...he has been wanting one for a couple years now. Don't ask me why but I have finally given in.

Friday Fill-Ins

1. Please feel free to tell me it's Friday. I have been waiting all week to hear that.

2. When I spray febreeze I can't help sniffing it occasionally. It smells so fresh and clean!

3. My favorite thing to cook is cookies! I love to bake sweets.

4. Spending time with my kids is something I can't get enough of.

5. That's the thing I love most about my life. That and family gatherings. It's always fun to get together. I can't wait for Thanksgiving when my bro comes home. I just wish the other two could come home too.

6. Reaching for just one more piece of chocolate always makes me think to myself, what the heck?

7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to relaxing and taking a very large sleeping pill, tomorrow my plans include testing the outside Christmas lights and seeing what needs replaced and Sunday, I want to spend time with the fam!

I have a confession to make...

Okay,
here it is.
I must confess.
I already have my
Christmas decorations up!
In fact, they have been
up since last Saturday.

Crazy??

Maybe a little.

But here are my reasons why:

I wasn't sick; feelin' fine.

My house was already clean.

I decided not to procrastinate.

I've been online Christmas

shopping so I was getting excited.

Most of my decorations

are nutcrackers.

I love 'em!

Collin even had to decorate

this guys feet with cars.

This is my BIGGEST nutcracker.

The smallest are on the tree.

Eric said he'd get the

real tree in a couple weeks.

Yea!!

I have two of these guys.
They are the guardians
to my living room.
The kids had to decorate
them with cars too
after I took this pic.

Carlee loves this lighted fireplace in my dining room.
I can't wait for
Christmas!

Always up for a game!

If I was a board game I would be:

You Are Checkers

You are very logical and rational. You are able to understand what is and isn't a factor.

You're able to compartmentalize and focus on the essentials.

You appreciate simplicity. You can see the layers of complexity and beauty in anything.

You are also playful and good natured. You don't take life too seriously!
